Lieutenant Dean A. Brooks began his law enforcement career at the Martin Police Department in May of 1994. He served as a patrolman, investigator, corporal, sergeant and presently holds the rank of Lieutenant in the Patrol Division.

Lieutenant Brooks has had training in several different fields. He is a Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, O C Spray Instructor. He is a member of the Martin Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). He has trained for the Special Response Team (SRT) and has gang Intelligence training.

Lieutenant Brooks is a 1979 graduate from South Fulton High School, South Fulton, TN. He is a 1981 graduate from Paducah Community College, Paducah, KY, where he received an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1984 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He is a  graduate of the 249th session of the F.B.I. National Academy in 2009.
