Man arrested on Warrants from Weakley and Obion Counties

by

On 02/12/2017 at approx. 2:51 am, Ptl. Gallimore made contact with two young males walking on Olive St.  When Ptl. Gallimore attempted to speak with the subjects pertaining to a possible curfew violation, they ran on foot after being told to stop.  They were located a short time later hiding in a carport on Elm St. and they ran from this location towards Park St.  Officers stopped the subjects behind Simmons Bank.  Upon speaking to the subjects, one of them provided the officers with false information pertaining to his identity.  Through further investigation, it was discovered that this subject was Tyrell D. Mcelrath, 18 of Union City, TN.  It was also determined that Mr. Mcelrath had an outstanding warrant from Obion County for aggravated robbery and another from Weakley County for shoplifting.  The offender was taken in to custody and formally charged with resisting stop/halt and criminal impersonation.  He will be arraigned on 02/14/2017 in Weakley County General Sessions Court at 2:00 pm.
