Drop Box for Prescriptions

by

Cleaning out the medicine cabinet just got safer with the installation of a secure drop box for your expired, unused, or unwanted prescription medicines at the Martin Police Department located at 101 University St.

Throwing prescription drugs in the trash or down the sink represents a hazard to the community. If not properly handled, the drugs can be abused by teens or adults, or they can pollute the environment.

“This container gives residents an easy, safe and anonymous way to throw out old prescriptions,” said Martin  Police Chief David Moore.

All of the medications collected from this program are destroyed by incineration at the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.

Allowed for Disposal
All expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications.

Prohibited
Needles (sharps), thermometers, inhalers, aerosol cans, medication from businesses or clinics, liquids.
